Hunter Mountain and the surrounding community together offer a great variety of winter activities that can act as the perfect substitute to skiing and snowboarding!


On-Mountain Activities


Snowtubing
Snowtubing is a fun winter pastime, and is located right at Hunter! Packed with laughs, snowtubing at Hunter is a great activity perfect for the entire family! Adults and children must be at least 42 inches in height to participate in snowtubing. Click here for more.

Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing at Hunter is a perfect winter activity for snow enthusiasts who crave great wintertime exercise, the serenity of the mountains, and exploration on a beautiful day! Hunter offers lift-serviced snowshoe trails, equipment rentals and plenty of breathtaking scenery to enjoy. Download Trail Map

Snowshoeing is open only when conditions allow. Lift access is available from 8:30am to 4pm daily.

Cross Country Skiing

Arts and Culture
The region is packed with art galleries, including those found in Hunter and the nearby village of Woodstock. Groups can enjoy a variety of music and cultural festivals hosted in the area. Shopping and Antiquing
The area features nearly 50 antique shops and galleries, all within a short drive of the Kaatskill Mountain Club. There are also dozens of local artisans and craftspeople.

Baseball Hall of Fame and Museums
Area museums cover a wide range of interests! Cooperstown, NY and the National Baseball Hall of Fame are 90 minutes from Hunter Mountain. Art museums include the Fennimore Art Museum, with its Native American and American exhibits. Transportation buffs will enjoy several options, including the Empire State Railway Museum and the Hudson River Maritime Museum. And that’s just a small sampling!
