jimmy_sturr_car.jpg16 Time Grammy Award Winner! Once again, we're proud to present to you the Sixteen Time Grammy Winner Jimmy Sturr and His Orchestra! Jimmy and his band constantly attract crowds of screaming, adoring fans wherever their travels take them. Their tremendous popularity has resulted in not only numerous Grammy Awards, but also being voted "The #1 Polka Band in the country."

The band has an extensive road schedule of 165 dates per year, including several international trips annually. They have played seven sold-out shows at Carnegie Hall, four sold-out shows at Lincoln Center, and a sold-out show at The Palace of Culture in Warsaw, Poland, where the band received seven standing ovations.

Die Mariazeller

mariazeller4.jpgDirect from Munich, Germany. More than 15 years the Austrian band "Die Mariazeller" have been playing all over the world. Because of many years on the road, their experience and presence on stage, and because they still are best friends, they have made many friends and fans in many countries around the globe.

The four musicians, originating from a small town with a big Catholic Cathedral in the Styrian Alps, called Mariazell, will impress you with their friendliness, talent on many different instruments, and outstanding singing.

A show with them is hard to beat when it comes to variety, fun and entertainment. They are on the road throughout the year, performing in such places as Switzerland, Germany, Hofbrauhaus Mallorca Spain, Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas, and sometimes in the little town where they all come from.

The Stratton Mountain Boys

stratton_mountain_horns.jpgThe Stratton Mountain Boys are known throughout the United States as some of the finest ethnic performers of Germanic music and Octoberfest entertainment. This fine group was formed at Stratton Mountain, Vermont where the band members are also ski instructors in the wintertime.

In the 30 years of Stratton Mountain Boys history there have been approximately 40 Austrian musicians participating in the band. The existing members are pleased to keep the tradition alive. They continuously offer excellent entertainment throughout the USA every summer. In five months they drive over 40,000 miles to appear in front of thousands of people. They have been on various radio broadcasts and television shows, such as CNN Headline News, PM Magazine, Captain Kangaroo Show, Epcot Center, Milwaukee Summerfest and far too many to name here.

The haunting sounds of four alphorns, the happy yodeling songs, the traditional shoe slapping dances and their lively spirited Polka music delight their guests and bring happiness to everyone. So come join the fun.... Come see the Stratton Mountain Boys.

Die Schlauberger

dsb_postcard.jpgFestival-goers across the nation have a love affair going on with America's number one German Band, die Schlauberger. And no wonder – this band is a powerhouse of musical expertise and expends enough energy to light up not only the crowd, but the fairgrounds, too. From the moment they step on stage until they have wrung the final note from their last song, die Schlauberger has the audience up and dancing to their powerful renditions of German favorites and other crowd pleasing tunes. die Schlauberger engages everyone within earshot to "expect the unexpected." Don’t miss the band whose very mission is "Keeping the Traditionalists on their Feet and the New Generation Interested."

The Spitzbuam

spitzbaum.jpgPerforming Sunday only. The Spitzbuam (pronounced "Sshhpit-sss-boo-ahhmm") are a non-internationally, non-renowned German-American dance orchestra. The name roughly means "Trouble Makers" in the German-Bavarian dialect, however there are arguments that the translation does not fully capture the spirit of the original word. The group is generally contained within the Metropolitan New York area although they have been sighted in locations as far ranging as Rochester, Pennsylvania and even Bermuda, at events that are accompanied by merry-making, food ... and of course beer. Musical selection ranges from traditional, popular German and Austrian numbers, to country western and rock-'n'-roll. The band is associated with and provides accompaniment for numerous German/Austrian folk dance groups.

Note: The Spitzbuam are not considered dangerous and no caution need be taken when attending events at which they are appearing ... although there is a risk of sore feet and hang overs.

Enzian Bavarian Band

enzian_band.jpgPerforming Saturday only. The Enzian Bavarian Band has been in existence for 34 years and plays a wide range of German music, from lively polkas and Rheinlanders to romantic ballads and waltzes, with many of the songs sung in the native tongue of the Bavarian Alps. The Band is composed of professional musicians playing such instruments as the tuba, trumpet, drums, flugelhorn, clarinet, saxophone, and a 40-stringed harp-like instrument called a zither, an authentic Bavarian instrument. In addition, the Band offers you a unique experience with performances on alphorns and the singing saw. The Band strives to preserve the Bavarian heritage and traditional culture of Germany through its performances, and has entertained throughout the northeastern United States and Canada, and is a regular at the New York State Fair.
