Rules of Competition

PLEASE NOTE THE NEW CHANGES AND RACE FORMAT:

  • NASTAR scoring will be changed to non-handicapped scoring as we used to do when LocalMotion first started.
  • Instead of one general category, there will be a Pro division, an A division and a B division. Teams are 8-10 people, mixed gender preferred.
  • Team score will be based on top three of one gender and top one of another gender. It is still mandatory that each team have at least one member of the opposite gender participating the day of the race.
  • The first race will have all team members make four runs in which Pro, A and B categories will be calculated on the average of their four (4) runs. New team members not able to participate in the first race will be added to the correct category based on their two run times at the 2nd race.
  • There will be a bump rule where a racer will move up into the next flight if you win your flight by 2 seconds or more. You can only move up—not back. Race 1 scoring will be the two fastest times of the four runs combined on the 1st day.  This levels the playing field in that individual points will be awarded to the top four times of each flight.
  • Final team points will be calculated on the five best daily scores. Lowest score will be dropped for the overall winner. The same will be true for the individual winners in male, female and rider categories.
  • We are also going to introduce the “Ribbon Run” This single fun run will be two people holding onto a 12’ ribbon while maneuvering the gates. The best ribbon pair will also be recognized at our Monday night award ceremony for this judged run based on time, athleticism and creativity. We will announce whom the Ribbon Run judge will be for the following race picked from a hat.

Change of Teams: Any racer that changes teams after the first race and before the second will forfeit all accumulated team points to original team while keeping personal points that have been accrued.

Authorized substitutions: To be considered through a jury system involving team captains and management.

Independent Racers: Independent racers, also known as racers without teams, are welcomed and encouraged to participate in the race series and compete for weekly and series awards.

Start Order: The start order will be based on a first-come, first-serve basis for all competitors.  This method will allow for a smooth transition between runs while allowing personal grudge match races.

Disputes: All disputes regarding the scoring of each event will only be considered or accepted on the day following the race in question.  Any protests not brought to the attention of the Race Dept. within 48 hours of the finish of the race will not be recognized and points finish position, and awards will stand.
