LocalMotion Race Series
The new and improved LocalMotion will be sponsored by Heineken this year with thousands of dollars worth of prizes raffled off at the après race parties throughout the series. The Heineken LocalMotion race series takes place on six Mondays durring the 2012 season. Teams and individual amateur racers compete for bragging rights in slalom, giant slalom, and multi-races. LocalMotion races are open to skier and riders age 21 and over.

- Feb 13: Race #3: Bear Creek Landing
- Feb 27: Race #4: Loti Pub & Restaurant
- Mar 12: Race #5: Villa Vosilla
- Mar 26: Race #6: Chateau Belleview
Registration: At the top of the main stairs from 9am-10am.
Start Time: Races start at 11:00am and will conclude by 2:00pm. Note: In order to make LocalMotion available to Hunter Mountain staff, employees who are working at the time of the race will have line priority to the race course from 12 noon until 2:00pm.**
Race Location: To be based on availability and snow conditions. Due to inclement conditions not suitable and considered dangerous for competition, changes in venue or discipline may be made, and some events may be postponed or set for a later date. All changes and cancellations will be posted on the Hunter Mountain website as timely as possible.
Après Ski: A buffet/party will follow each race as listed above. Registration fee includes the buffet/party and entry into rafflefor prizes. Party begins at 5:00pm and ends at 7:00pm.
Cost: $20 per person per event. Non-competitors may purchase a ticket to the Après party at $10 per person per event.
Rules of Competition:
- NASTAR scoring (Friends & Family Team Scoring) will be used.
- LocalMotion races are open to skier and riders age 21 and over.
- Team score will be based on five scores (5) and must have both genders to score. It is mandatory that each team have at least one member of the opposite gender participating the day of the race. Teams competing in a race without enough members present to qualify for team score will receive a 10-point default score.
- Change of Teams: Rosters may not be modified after the start of the second race. Authorized substitutions due to injury or illness only: To be considered by the Event Manager.
- Independent Racers: Independent racers, also known as racers without teams, are welcomed and encouraged to participate in the race series and compete for weekly and series awards.
- Start Order: The start order will be based on a first-come, first-serve basis for all competitors. Refer to **note re employees on duty during race time.
- Disputes: All disputes regarding the scoring of each event will only be considered or accepted on the day following the race in question. Any protests not brought to the attention of the Race Dept. within 48 hours of the finish of the race will not be recognized and points finish position, and awards will stand.
