New York Zipline Adventure Tours
Opening Summer of 2010
Imagine flying through the air... suspended from a cable by only a nylon strap... nearly 600 feet above the ground... at over 50 miles per hour! Take in magnificent views of the Northern Catskills from a point where only birds have gone before.
New York Zipline Adventure Tours at Hunter Mountain will be the longest & highest zipline canopy tour in North America, featuring over 5 miles of ziplines, some reaching heights of nearly 600 feet above the ground. The summit "zips" will thrill even the most die-hard adventure seeker, but there will also be many tamer, family-friendly zips and canopy tours for all ages, all ability levels. This will be a four-season operation - if you're dressed for skiing or snowboarding (minus the boots), you're dressed for winter ziplining.

There will be three distinct sections to the operation; the Adventure Tower will be located just outside the Base Lodge, and will feature four stories of climbing, rope bridges, cable walks... think the biggest jungle gym you've ever seen. The second section, the Mid Mountain Tour, will be located in the forest a couple hundred yards above the Base Lodge. This park will offer short ziplines, rope bridges, swinging bridges and other canopy tour elements. The third section, the showcase "Top of the Mountain" tour, will feature criss-crossing ziplines from the summit. The first "summit" zip will reach heights close to 600 feet above the ground, and speeds in excess of 50 miles per hour.
For those more inclined to stay on the ground, there will also be seasonal mountain tours in the outfit's six-wheeled Pinzgauer vehicles. Originally made in Austria, the Pinzgauer is one of the most capable all-terrain vehicles ever made, and have been used for decades by militaries around the globe. These trucks will be used to reach the summit at certain times, and mountain tours will be available to reach amazing viewpionts on the mountain.
