Stream report
Date of Report: Sept. 21, 2009
This week's trips to local streams were very productive despite low water conditions. The Schoharie produced the best results with several nice Browns caught and released. The Browns are now spawning and are showing off their beautiful fall colors. Please remember to practice catch and release during this time of the year. These spawning Browns represent the future generations of wild trout in our streams. To the naked eye the Didymo algae in the Esopus appears to be gone, but not so. Fishermen should still follow the posted instructions from the D.E.C. to prevent the spread of this nasty invader. Our fly fishing school and guide service will close for the season October 1. Call now to book your trip... 800-486-8376 ext. 2233. |
