![]() | January 31, 2007 Today is our East Coast Firefighters Race, where teams of five racers ski or snowboard through a course carrying a 50 foot firehose, in full turnout gear (minus the boots, of course). This year is the 25th anniversary for the East Coast race, and the 34th year for the FDNY race on Tuesday. |

Conditions are fantastic... we opened Colonel's Alternate this morning on Hunter West, and Clair's and Taylors will be open by tomorrow. Very cold temps tonight will allow us to make a LOT of snow. |

Today's event is also a qualifier for the SI for Kids Next Snow Search. The winner of this qualifier will represent Hunter Mountain at the Next Snow Search Finals at Killington, VT. The best 25 athletes at the finals will be named to the "Sports Illustrated For Kids Next Snow Team," an honorary recognition. |

![]() | January 11, 2007 Snowmaking will continue through the day as long as temperatures permit. It's beginning to look a lot like Winter here at Hunter Mountain, with some natural snow finally falling yesterday, and our snowmaking system pumping out incredible amounts of man-made snow. |

But thanks to our snowmaking system, we'll keep making snow even when Mother Nature overlooks us. |
