Today is our East Coast Firefighters Race, where teams of five racers ski or snowboard through a course carrying a 50 foot firehose, in full turnout gear (minus the boots, of course). This year is the 25th anniversary for the East Coast race, and the 34th year for the FDNY race on Tuesday.

Incredible conditions for our Learn to Ski or Snowboard experience. Our Learning Center is a great facility to learn skiing or riding.

Fantastic conditions with plenty of man-made powder everywhere. Temperatures this weekend will be moderating to comfortable levels, with sime flurries possible both days.

Amazing snowmaking weather... cold and dry, with light winds. We've made a ton of snow this week, and we'll continue through tonight into Saturday morning. Snowmaking will be shutting down for the weekend and restarting Sunday evening!

Heavy snow squalls this morning are bringing us a good dusting of snow, on top of our snowmaking efforts. Conditions are fantastic... we opened Colonel's Alternate this morning on Hunter West, and Clair's and Taylors will be open by tomorrow. Very cold temps tonight will allow us to make a LOT of snow.

We've made a lot of progress in the past few days with snowmaking, and the mountain is in fantastic shape.

The mountain is in beautiful shape, and it's going to get better as the week progresses. Snowmaking will continue through the week.

Fantastic conditions today, with a chance of flurries today through tomorrow. Snowmaking will continue this week... we're currently making snow on Clair's Way and the Colonel's Alternate on Hunter West. Watch for openings later this week.

Skiers and riders are warming up in our park in preparation of our Catskill Mountain Series Slopestyle today. Today's event is also a qualifier for the SI for Kids Next Snow Search. The winner of this qualifier will represent Hunter Mountain at the Next Snow Search Finals at Killington, VT. The best 25 athletes at the finals will be named to the "Sports Illustrated For Kids Next Snow Team," an honorary recognition.

January 19, 2007 

Flurries last night and this morning are leaving us with a dusting of snow. We're expecting flurries through the day, then turning colder overnight. Snowmaking will resume this afternoon.

Outstanding conditions, and snowmaking is shut down until Friday afternoon. Once we resume snowmaking, we'll be spreading out onto additional terrian.

Winter is back, and we'll be making snow through the foreseeable future. We'll be spreading out to open more terrain as soon as we resurface everything. The long range forecast looks like winter is FINALLY here to stay for a while.

It's turning out to be a beautiful day... the sun is coming out, and the sky is clearing, and we had a good night of snowmaking. Conditions are fantastic, and it's even starting to FEEL like winter.

Snowmaking will continue through the day as long as temperatures permit. It's beginning to look a lot like Winter here at Hunter Mountain, with some natural snow finally falling yesterday, and our snowmaking system pumping out incredible amounts of man-made snow.

We've got some great conditions on the mountain, between the natural snow and our snowguns. We received about 4" of snow throughout the day today, with flurries still falling late this afternoon.

We've received 2-3" of natural snow so far this morning, and there's more coming.

Heavy snow squalls this morning are adding to our snowmaking efforts. This is the biggest snowfall of the year so far, with nearly a half an inch of fresh powder already on the ground! But thanks to our snowmaking system, we'll keep making snow even when Mother Nature overlooks us.

Snowmaking is back in progress! We'll be resurfacing everything this week, and after a brief warmup this weekend, real winter temps are predicted next week. Watch for more terrain opening quickly!

Snowmaking weather is returning Monday night, with real winter temperatures expected for the foreseeable future. We'll be resurfacing open trails first, and then quickly spreading out to open more terrain.

Showers have ended, and we're seeing some breaks of sun this morning. Spring conditions today, with temperatures near 60° this morning.

Showers have moved in, but the hardcore riders are still having fun on the rails.

We're open with 24 trails and four lifts today. Coverage is still very good on most trails, and snowmaking weather is slowly making its way back to us.
