Whether you're a beginner angler or an experienced master, the name you can trust for quality and dependability is Orvis. We offer an extensive selection of fly casting rods for all budgets, complemented by a fine selection of reels. Waders, water shoes, vests and outerwear, plus flies, tying equipment and supplies, landing nets, rod cases and other accessories fill our 3,000 sq. foot shop. New York State Fishing Licenses are available in the shop.
But we're more than just a rod and tackle shop. Let our experienced, licensed guides and instructors teach you the right way to cast.... and where to go to find the fish. After all, American fly fishing was started right here in the Catskills -- and some of the best trout streams in the world are located within an easy drive of Hunter. The Esopus, the Schoharie, The Bataviakill and Beaverkill, and the legendary Delaware River are all within an easy drive.
Hunter Mountain Expeditions & Sports Center is open Wednesday through Monday during the summer months (closed Tuesdays) from 9am to 5pm.
The shop offers a great selection of apparel from some of the top names in the business.... Marmot, Helly Hansen and ExOfficio, including a selection of ExOfficio's BUZZ OFF Insect Repellant Apparel.
The shop also carries a line of Innova golf discs for Hunter Mountain's new 18-hole disc golf course, opening in July 2011.
