Come elevate your senses... literally! Our Summer Skyride will take you to new heights in comfort. The 5500 foot long Skyride takes you up 1600 vertical feet to the summit elevation of 3200 feet above sea level. From this commanding vista you can see the Berkshire Mountains of Massachussetts, the Green Mountains in Vermont, and the beautiful Catskill Mountains as you've never seen them. The Hunter Mountain Fire Tower is located at the summit of Hunter Mountain, the second highest peak in the Catskills, at an elevation of 4,050 feet. It's a moderate two mile hike (each way) from the top of the Skyride to the fire tower.

Please respect the environment. Hunter Mountain is located within the boundaries of the Catskill Forest Preserve and the New York City Watershed. Please remember, if you pack it in, pack it out.

2009 Hours & Prices:

  • July 4 through Sept 6: open Wed.-Sun.
    (noon-4pm on Wed-Fri; 10am-5pm on Sat-Sun)
  • Sept. 12 through Sat., Oct. 17: Sat. & Sun. only, 10am-5pm
  • Also open: Columbus Day (Oct. 12)

Skyride is open weather permitting

Prices:

  • Adult (13 and over): $8.00
  • Juniors (7 to 12 years): $6.00
  • Six & under: Free

Group Rates:

  • Minimum 15 per group.
  • Adults: $7 (ages 13 and over); Junior: $5 (ages 7-12).
  • One complimentary ticket per 15 purchased.
  • Purchase must be made by one person in one transaction.
  • Call to secure a reservation: 1-800-HunterMtn.
  • A deposit will be required on all groups for damage and cleanup. Deposit will be refunded in full if there is no damage to the grounds and cleanup is not required.

Paid Festival admission is required to enter the Festival grounds on the weekends of August 8-9 and August 15-16. The Skyride is a separate Festival amenity that is within the grounds at an extra fee to festival attendees. Skyride only tickets are not available on August 8-9 and August 15-16.

Pricing:

  • Any group less than 100: all photos on CD for $99.00
  • Groups of 100 to 200: All photos on CD for $159.00
  • Groups over 200: all photos on CD for $199.00
