PlayCare Information

For the 2016-2017 Season

Ages 2-6 Years Old

Why: Hunter Mountain offers childcare services just steps away from the slopes for children ages 2-6 years old. Enjoy a worry-free stay on the slopes while our caring staff entertains your child indoors with games, storytelling and crafts.

Who: Children ages 2-6 years old of families enjoying the snowsports at Hunter Mountain. 

What: The full-day program includes 2 snacks, and a lunch option for an additional fee. Children will be cared for by attentive and enthusiastic staff members within a safe and welcoming environment.

Where: Lower level of the Learning Center. Children will be registered at the front desk then escorted into the PlayCare area by a staff member.

Hours:

  • Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during regular season *Plus midweek during holiday periods
  • 8:00am to 5:00pm

Daily Rates:

  • Full Day (up to 9 hours)- $85 per child
  • 1/2 Day (up to 4 hours, AM or PM) - $68 per child
    • AM Session is 8:00am-12:00pm
    • PM Session is 1:00pm-5:00pm
  • 2-Hour Option - $45 per child

    • 8am-10am

    • 10am-12pm

    • 1pm-3pm

    • 3pm-5pm      

  • Lunch Option - $6 (Can be added to full day programs only)

Typical Daily Schedule

Children’s Programs Refund/Cancelation Policy for 2016-2017 Season:

If your reservation is canceled within 24 hours of booking, a full refund minus a $25 cancelation fee per child can be issued, or we can issue you a voucher for the same child & product for another day, during the 2016-2017 season. *If reservation is booked within 24 hours of the lesson start time, no refunds will be available if canceled.
If you need to cancel and contact us PRIOR to 5pm the night before your scheduled visit, we can issue you a voucher for the same child & product for another day, during the 2016-2017 Season.
If the reservation is not canceled by 5pm the day before the start of your reservation, you arrive late for or leave early from your lesson, no refunds, credits, or vouchers will be available. 

Refusal Policy:

Hunter Mountain reserves the right to refuse a child due to age, communication barriers, tardiness, behavior, availability, or readiness for the program. Children should be prepared to ride lifts with other members of the public, Hunter Mountain staff or by themselves. Your child must be toilet trained - not in diapers or pull-ups for this on-snow program. Appropriate snow conditions are required to run the outdoor program. Hunter Mountain does not refund money for children who do not want to be on snow and are in our care.

Restrictions /Requirements: 

  • Parents/guardians of children registered for any PlayCare or related Children’s Programs must be on premises while their child is enrolled.  
  • If your child is experiencing any flu-like symptoms, please refrain from bringing them into our program.  If they should suddenly develop any flu-like symptoms while in our care, our staff will notify you to come pick them up.
  • Your child must be toilet trained - not in diapers or pull-ups for all on-snow programs. Appropriate snow conditions are required to run the outdoor programs.
  • We do not allow peanut butter or peanut products in our facility.

 

All Day Ski and Play Program

Ages 4-6, Skiers Only, Group Lessons

Why: The “All Day Ski and Play” program is geared towards beginner skiers who are not yet ready for a full day of lessons, but gives the parent the option of having their 4-6 year old child cared for the entire day (up to 9 hours during regular PlayCare operation times, 8:00am-5:00pm).

What: The program includes a morning session in our Explorer program, which is a two-hour group lesson. After their lesson, they will be taken to our PlayCare room by our staff where they will have lunch and spend the rest of the day playing and enjoying themselves.

  • 2 hour group ski lesson
  • Lunch
  • 5 hours of PlayCare
  • 1 lift ticket
  • 1 PM snack

When:

All Day Ski & Play Program is open Friday-Sunday and holiday periods. Space is limited. Reservations are required. Call 1-800-486-8376, ext. 2351.

Just For Me Because I'm Three

Age 3, Skiers Only 

 Why: If you're looking for private instruction for your 3 year-old child, check out our Just for Me Program. It's never too early to start your child's love for the slopes! These half-hour lessons are a great way to introduce your child to a lifetime of skiing.

 What: Our three year-old skiing program includes:

  • 1 half-hour session of on-snow instruction, for children enrolled in PlayCare
  • Rental Equipment
  • 1 Lift Ticket

Daily Rate: This program carries an additional fee of $40,
                        after reservation and payment of PlayCare has been completed.

  • Your child must be signed in to PlayCare at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled lesson time.
  • Parents/guardians of children registered for any PlayCare or related Children’s Programs must be on premises while their child is enrolled. 
  • If your child is experiencing any flu-like symptoms, please refrain from bringing them into our program.  If they should suddenly develop any flu-like symptoms while in our care, our staff will notify you to come pick them up.
