2018 Kaatskillz Pro-Am

Mother Nature has handed us quite the ups and downs this season. Unfortunately, with the warm temps mixed with rain this week, we’ve made the tough decision to cancel Kaatskillz for this Saturday. We have a big air event coming up in March and we need to preserve as much snow as possible for that event.

We apologize – we know this is a huge bummer.

After the Sam Adams big air event on March 10th, we will still look forward to hosting the Monster Energy Rail Jam on March 17th , which will be stacked with prizes from Monster Energy including cruiser bikes and drones!

With that said, our park crew has done a great job this season keeping our parks in great shape, so you can still continue to enjoy all their hard work.

Freestyle skiers and riders are invited to compete in the Kaatskillz pro-am event located on the main face of the mountain on Park Ave West. The event build is comprised of skate park inspired features including hips, bowls, and rails, all of which competitors will be judged on their approach and style through the course. The event will be hosted by none other than Joey B of Freshies Media, while DJ David Barese will be spinning alongside on-site event sponsors Clif Bar, Oakley, Monster Energy, and Yakima. The competition kicks off at 11 am!

Top placing competitors will receive prizes from event sponsors CLIF BarOakleyDCYakimaMonster Energy, and Hunter Mountain. Top snowboarders will also receive a free trip to Mount Snow's Carinthia Open Mega Plaza Event, Carinthia's biggest event of the season. A total of $1,500 cash will be awarded to the top competitors in the pro division. Cash breakdown is based on a sliding scale determined by the number of competitors in each of the Male and Female Ski and Snowboarding Pro division. Depending on the number of competitors in each class, cash prize amounts will vary; cash prize amounts will be greater in classes with more competitors.

Registration for the event is listed below. Competitors are urged to register as soon as possible; participation is limited to 100. Please note, all participants must have a lift ticket or season pass and be at least 15 years of age to compete. Competitors must also sign a waiver to participate.

Competitor Schedule is as follows:
8 AM- 9 AM: Competitor check-in and on-site registration (if applicable) in Base Lodge
9 AM - 10 AM: Competitor practice on course
10 AM - 11AM: Course closed until event
11 AM: Competition begins with the amateur division, then pro division
