Midweek Update: June 27th
Progress on Hunter North continues at a steady pace this week as our mountain operations team begins prepping both sites of the top and bottom terminals for the installation our second new high speed 6-passenger chairlift!
The precise and careful engineering work of forming the tower foundations for our chairlift on Hunter North will begin this week into next as well. As expected, we continue to receive a steady delivery of new parts for Hunter North’s new chairlift in addition to new automated snowmaking equipment for our 5 new Hunter North trails.
Speaking of the new trails, grading work continues on this new terrain to level out and finalize the surface on the trails so that they will be ready to hold man-made and natural snow come this winter! This work includes seeding and mulching the surface of each of the 5 news trails to allow the natural repair and maintenance of the trail’s surface terrain.
Down at Hunter North’s new base area construction is wrapping up this week on the installation of new storm water ponds to ensure to proper capture and regulation of runoff for the new area.
As a reminder, while we love our guest’s curiosity and interest in our new expansion project, but access to the construction site is strictly prohibited. We respectfully ask that our guests hiking on the mountain this spring, summer and fall actively avoid the site for their own safety and obey all posted signage at all times.
