Midweek Update: July 3rd
Our construction team continues to move at a rapid pace this week with a focus on surface grading on Trail 2. A team of two massive 45 ton, 354 horsepower bulldozers, capable of moving 92 square feet of material per pass, are currently pushing rock and earth down from the top step of the trail to about half way to achieve the desired gradient and surface level. In addition, a newly planned blasting on trail 2 will occur in order to expedite this effort. A specialized drilling machine is currently prepping the site for dynamite as of today. We will be sure to post an exciting video of this blast when it occurs!
In other news, snow making and lift equipment continues to arrive and will be on its way towards installation shortly after the majority of trail grading has been finished. As soon as next week, our operations team will be receiving a series of concrete shipment which will be poured into molds to form the foundations for the new lift towers on Hunter North!
Pictures of bulldozing team, blasting site, snow guns and foundation forms are available below! Remember to stay tuned right here on our blog and across our social media for all the latest on Hunter North and more.
Please Note: While we love our guest’s curiosity and interest in our new expansion project, access to the construction site is strictly prohibited. We respectfully ask that our guests hiking on the mountain this spring, summer and fall actively avoid the site for their own safety and obey all posted signage at all times.
