Midweek Update: August 9th
Our mountain operations and construction teams have kept up the pace this week despite periodic summer storms’ best attempts to delay their work! Currently 10 out of 11 towers for our new chairlift are set with the last remain tower to be poured and set by this weekend.
At this stage of the project our crews have begun to set their sights on prepping the locations for the top and bottom lift terminals. The scale and importance of this work cannot be understated as it requires steady, precise work and measurements at every step of the process. Members of our highly specialized construction teams have been allocated to do this important work which will begin as early as this weekend.
Once both the top and bottom terminal foundations have been set, they will be ready to receive towers and the physical lift terminal stations. Crews estimate that parts for the new lift will begin to arrive in September.
Installing certain sections of the new lift requires that towers be flown from a landing area nearby on Hunter North to the installation site itself. This work will be outsourced to a specialized helicopter pilot, who coordinates with crews on the ground to receive the towers for installation at the foundation sites.
