Midweek Update: August 15th
With all 11 of our new lift tower foundations officially set, work on both the top and bottom terminals for our new high speed 6 passenger chairlift can begin. Crews have already completed the preliminary work for the bottom terminal foundation and will begin pouring the concrete into its’ form this week with similar work beginning on the top terminal next week. Once both the bottom and top terminals are set they will be ready to receive the physical lift terminals which are scheduled to arrive in September.
In other news, our trail construction teams have nearly completed their work on our 5 new trails, grading, seeding and mulching these 37 acres of new skiable terrain. While finishing work is begin done this week on Trail 4, infrastructure crews are focused on installing electrical conduit and welding snowmaking pipes that will feed our 100% snowmaking coverage across our 5 new trails.
This week we interviewed Lonnie Shumate, Director of Mountain Operations for our sister resort Crotched Mountain. Lonnie is overseeing the snowmaking and infrastructure work across the Hunter North project. Click here to watch the interview and learn more.
