Midweek Update: September 19th

It’s all about our new lift this week as lift operations begins assembling critical parts of both the top and bottom terminals. With all the foundations finished on our new lift line, construction crews have begun bringing in and installing the large metal structural components that will support the main mechanisms of our second new six passenger high speed detachable chairlift.

These large metal structures are first loaded on to a flatbed truck which brings them to the installation site at either the top or bottom terminal. From there, the parts are attached to the arm of a heavy-duty excavator with high strength industrial tethering. Once in position ground crews carefully guide the placement of the part according to specifications, bolt it into place and route any communications or electrical cables that may need to be supplied through the part.

This is incredible work being done by both our ground crews and lift operations professionals, and represents a major step forward as we get closer to this upcoming winter season. We’ll continue to bring you updates throughout the coming weeks regarding the lift installation including the highly anticipated date for when we will be flying our new lift towers (Hint: mid-October)!

Make sure you are prepared for this upcoming winter season and the debut of Hunter North by picking up your Peak Pass today! Pre-season prices increase after midnight on October 19th so don’t wait, click here to learn more about Peak Pass options for the 2018-19 season today.
