Progress Update: Nov. 25th
Hello skiers and riders! There has been so much happening here now that we are officially open for the 2018-19 season. Just because the mountain is opening for skiing and riding doesn’t mean we have forgotten about the Hunter North Project! Our mountain operations team and Hunter North construction crews have been hard at work pushing the pace of the project and ensuring constant progress.
Teams are testing our newly installed snowmaking equipment and lines across the new terrain as well as putting the finishing touches on our new chairlift – the Northern Express! The Hunter North team has spent the weekend stringing the support towers with a sand line which will guide the lift’s high strength cable through each tower’s sheave assembly and eventually into the top and bottom terminals. Once this delicate process is completed, both the top and bottom terminals can receive their respective motor and bullwheel assemblies, electrical communications can finished being wired and our detachable chairs can be affixed.
We are just as excited as ever to debut the Hunter North project since first breaking ground back in April of this year. As always, we will keep you posted on new developments and updates as they become available right here on our blog and on our Snow Report!
