Operational Update: December 3rd
Hey there skiers and riders! It is the beginning of another wonderful week here at Hunter Mountain and we are eager to continue enjoying the slopes with you as we start the month of December. We are progressing quickly towards the holiday season and are excited to announce that as of tonight, we will be taking advantage of cold temperatures and firing up our snowmaking system!
At this time, our plan for the week ahead is to build up our base depths on currently open terrain across the mountain. Our priorities will be to make even more snow down the Main Line and to resurface terrain ahead of plans to rapidly expand our trail count. Thanks to the world class capability of our snowmaking systems, we estimate that we will be able to build base depths nearing 3-4 feet! After reaching these depths, our plan is to then shift focus towards making snow on The Battery, Belt Parkway, Racer’s Edge, Gun Hill and more.
If temperatures and conditions permit sufficient snowmaking, we project that we may even be able to expand our operations to Way Out on Hunter West and Overlook on Hunter North!
This is all very exciting news and you can expect regular operational updates like this right here on our blog for the remainder of the season as well as continued daily updates on our Snow Report.
Pray for continued cold temperatures and conditions from Mother Nature and we’ll see you out on the slopes!
