Operational Update: December 7th, 2018
Mother Nature certainly hasn’t let us down, delivering extended snowmaking temperatures and conditions throughout this week which are expected to last through the weekend. Paired with our hardworking snowmakers and world class snowmaking system, we have been able to produce around a foot and a half of new snow over 100 acres since Monday night.
Cold temperatures and fresh snow across our terrain has resulted in some of the best early season conditions in recent years. With that said, we have no intentions of letting up on the pace as we head into the holiday season. This upcoming weekend you can expect newly opened terrain to be available including the Belt Parkway, Upper K27, Gun Hill Road, Lower Broadway and more.
Don’t think we have forgotten about our freestyle skiers and riders! Our Empire Parks crew is currently in the process of breaking down the huge amounts of snow we’ve made on both Park Avenue and Park Avenue West. We will have a completely new and fresh setup of features for you to enjoy this weekend.
Speaking of fresh new features, the debut of our Hunter North expansion is now closer than ever. This week, lift operations, Hunter North crews and staff from Leitner-Poma have been working diligently to install the lift cable for the Northern Express. Be here this weekend to get first tracks on the Belt Parkway and to get a glimpse of the top terminal of the Northern Express.
We’ll see you out on the slopes!
