Snowmaking Operations & Forecast Update: January 30th
Hey there skiers and riders! With yesterday’s storm behind us and over 9 inches of new snow down across the mountain thanks to Mother Nature, we have a couple of updates regarding snowmaking operations and our long term forecast we wanted to share with you!
This week temperatures are expected to drop significantly with potential lows in the negative single digits. After this past Tuesday’s snowfall settles and our grooming teams integrate this new snow it into our base, our snowmakers will be looking to head back out onto the mountain to build upon this new layer.
Clear skies, mild winds, relatively low humidity and cold temperatures make for ideal snowmaking conditions and we expect to these conditions to last through at least the weekend into late Sunday evening. We already have tremendous coverage across the mountain, with over 70 percent of our total terrain open for skiing and riding. Our snowmakers are drawing up their plans now and we will be releasing further details on where they are headed and what their objectives are for this current snowmaking window ahead of the weekend. Makes sure to stay tuned to our twice daily Snow Report for all the latest developments daily!
We look forward to seeing you out on the slopes!
