The Marketing & Communications Manager will be tasked with creating  measurable results, namely in terms of revenue generation, and will help build campaigns from start to finish with the direction from the resort and Peak Resorts management. 


  • Work with Peak Marketing Team to develop and execute marketing strategies that meet profitability targets

  • Plan, implement, administer, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the marketing functions of the resort. Develop and modify programs, services and operating systems in accordance with company & resort objectives.

  • Execute marketing strategies that meet profitability targets and continue to enhance and build awareness.

  • Coordinate art direction and content for ads, collateral pieces and other items with creative agency.Edit information to ensure accuracy.

  • Maintain brand consistency across resort departments and on-site signage through use of brand guidelines.

  • Manage resort campaign calendar and ensure all campaign activities are executed as planned.

  • Plan and manage the Marketing department budget.

  • Exercise full supervisory authority for 2 to 3 staff members.

  • Approve schedules and time-off requests for all marketing staff.

  • Plan and conduct staff meetings. Confer regularly with the marketing staff to plan and coordinate the services, programs and activities.

  • Represent the company and serve as liaison with a wide variety of individuals and organizations outside the company including the media, advertising agencies, attorneys, insurance companies, other ski personnel and ski organizations, etc.

  • Work with and serve on local & regional committees and organizations to promote the entire region.

  • Assist guest relations and resort teams with difficult situations/customer service issues through strategic communications

  • Perform duties in a manner to maximize safety and minimize risk to employees or the public.Hold managers and staff to the same standard

  • Assist in the organization, sponsorship implementation, set up, operation and overall direction of events

  • Seek new events and revenue streams within events to enhance profitability and guest enjoyment.

  • Ensure resort tone and messages are being relayed through digital, social and other media posts through management of Interactive and Content Managers.

  • Direct content creation for social media, photography & video assets.



Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business management, or other appropriate field plus three to five  years marketing experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.


  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex issues.

  • Prior experience within the ski resort, recreation, or hospitality industry.

  • Excellent decision-making, planning and organization skills.

  • Excellent communication, meeting facilitation and writing skills.

  • Understanding of planning processes, and proven capability of managing such a process.

  • CMS & CRM Experience.

  • Proficient with tools in Google Suite & Google Analytics

  • Adobe Suite & Editing Software a plus.

  • Established attention to detail and ability to execute under pressure

  • Experience in working with media buying or selling (print, newspaper, radio, web, and television), direct marketing and promotions preferred

  • Ability to represent the company to and deal effectively with a wide variety of individuals and organizations.

  • Capable of being on camera and speak professionally in front of an audience.


    Other duties may also be asked of you during the winter and summer seasons.  Hunter Mountain works as a team flexing with business and resort needs.  Responsibilities, duties and the requirements of this position may change at any time with or without a change to title, benefits or salary.  Like many jobs within Peak Resorts and the ski industry this position requires a flexible schedule with long hours, work during holiday periods and weekends.
