Afternoon Update - 4:00 PM

Good afternoon skiers and riders. Today we enjoyed soft snow and mild temperatures on 46 trails serviced by 5 lifts. The weather may have not been as ideal as we would have hoped today but we are always thankful for those of you who came out to get their turns in with us. We even lucked out with the chance of rain today holding off and pushing into early tomorrow.

The forecast for tomorrow predicts rain early in the morning which is expecting to clear up by the afternoon with partly cloudy skies remaining.  Surface conditions are expected to be loose and wet granular on a machine groomed base of 24-36 inches.

The extended forecast expects temperatures to remain above the seasonal average for the rest of January with temperatures dropping back to freezing as February rolls in. If you’re a fan of mild winter weather enjoy it while it lasts because this season is still young with all of February and March still to come.

But before we get ahead of ourselves there is still time left in January to get a friend out on the slopes for the first time. January is Learn to Ski and Ride month here at Hunter so bring a friend who purchases a Beginner Ski or Snowboard Single Pak, or Peak Discovery Program, and you’ll get a FREE all access lift ticket to use for the same day!

We will be open tomorrow from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with up to 43 trails serviced by 4 lifts.

We’ll see you on the slopes,

Hunter Mountain.

Good morning skiers and riders. Today we are open with 46 trails serviced by 5 lifts. The forecast for today shows clouds and fog in the morning with a chance of rain in the afternoon. Don’t let the chance of rain scare you away, but be prepared with waterproof gear just in case. Primary surface conditions are expected to be loose granular on a machine groomed base of 24-36 inches.

No matter the conditions, there is nothing like carving down the main line first thing in the morning. So get out here early and make your turns with our weekday warriors before there is any chance the rain shows up.

The extended forecast shows above-average temperatures for the end of the week, but winter is far from over! Long range forecasts including the Farmer’s Almanac predict we will see more seasonable temperatures return with increased chances of snowfall in February. That is a great reminder that we still have all of February and March to ski and ride!

With just over a week left in January, time is running out to take advantage of Learn to Ski and Ride Month here at Hunter! For the rest of January, bring a friend who enrolls in an Adult Beginner Ski or Snowboard Single Pak, or Peak Discovery Program, and you'll receive a FREE all-access lift ticket to use on the same day!

Lifts are spinning today from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

We’ll see you on the slopes,

Hunter Mountain.
