Prepare for your lesson
Arriving prepared for your lesson is key to maximizing your day on the slopes with your instructor. Below you can find information on where to go, what to expect, and what to bring.
What you need to know
Where To Go:
- Head to the Learning Center Children's Programs Desk (Lower level of Learning Center)
When To Arrive:
- Arrive at the Learning Center Children's Programs Desk 30 minutes before your lesson start time (with all equipment and clothing ready to go).
- If you are picking up rental gear through our rental center, please arrive 60 minutes before your lesson start time (90 minutes before during holiday time periods – 12/24-1/1, 1/13-15, 2/17-2/25).
- Please refer to your pre-arrival email for the lesson start time.
Dropping Off Your Child:
- Please make sure your child has used the restroom before you drop them off for their lesson.
- Your child should be dressed (clothing & ski/snowboard gear) and ready to go when you drop them.
- Notify the Children’s Programs Desk at drop-off if your child has any allergies or medical conditions that we need to be aware of.
- Once your child is ready to be dropped off, please bring them to the location according to their enrolled program. Look for signage to assist you.

What to Expect
- All child group lessons will be sorted by age and ability level.
- Instructors will help all participants have fun exploring more of the mountain by practicing new skills and tactics at their own pace.
- The instructor will provide a summary of their lesson and your child’s progress at pick-up.
- Full Day Lessons will include a break for lunch (included in your lesson purchase), with food provided in the Children’s Program Lunch Room. Breaks are also taken as needed for water, snacks, and restroom.
- Please ensure your child has access to the restroom prior to the lesson start time to maximize their lesson time.

- Head to the Learning Center Ticket Sales Desk
When To Arrive:
- Arrive at the Learning Center Ticket Sales Desk 30 minutes before your lesson start time to pick up your lesson voucher and lift ticket (dressed and ready to go) before heading outside to the Adult Lesson meeting sign.
- If you are picking up rental gear through our rental center, please arrive 60 minutes before your lesson start time (90 minutes before during holiday time periods – 12/24-1/1, 1/13-15, 2/17-2/25).
- Please refer to your pre-arrival email for the lesson start time.
What to Expect
- During this 1.5-hour lesson, our instructors will help all participants learn the basic fundamentals of skiing or snowboarding (turning, stopping, and riding the lift) in a fun and safe environment.
- Learning to ski can be challenging and very rewarding. The key is to smile, have fun, and enjoy the process.
- Please note a valid lift ticket or season pass is required for every lesson.

- Head to the snow side of the Learning Center, and look for the 'Private Lesson' sign.
When To Arrive:
- Arrive at the lesson meet-up location 15 minutes before your lesson start time (dressed and ready to go).
- If you are picking up rental gear through our rental center, please arrive 60 minutes before your lesson start time (90 minutes before during holiday time periods – 12/24-1/1, 1/13-15, 2/17-2/25).
- Please refer to your pre-arrival email for the lesson start time.
What to Expect
- A day created just for you! Whether you and your family or friends want a group experience, or you want 1-on-1 attention, our Instructors will assess your goals and make this a day to remember.
- Whether you requested a specific instructor or we selected a qualified instructor for you, they will meet you outside by the Private Lessons sign.
- Full Day Private lessons include a break for lunch.
- Please note a valid lift ticket or season pass is required to attend any lesson.
What You Need
Your comfort and safety is our number one priority, so review the following items to ensure you are fully equipped for your ski or snowboard lesson.
Lift Access
All guests must have a pass or a lift ticket to participate in a lesson. Best pricing is available online, in advance.
Guests are welcome to bring their own equipment and boots if already owned. If renting, please arrive an hour prior to your lesson start time to ensure enough time for pick up.
Helmets
A winter sport helmet is required for all lesson participants aged 14 and under, and 18 and under in designated children’s lessons. We strongly encourage helmet use for all ages. Helmets can be included along with a rental order or rented separately.
Clothing & Accessories
Waterproof snow pants and gloves or mittens are required to keep you warm and dry. Goggles are also required to protect your eyes from the cold air and block UV light.
What We Recommend
- Base Layers: These fall under snow gear to provide an extra level of insulation while keeping your skin dry from sweat. Recommended to be a tighter fit for comfort and to wear both top and bottom.
- Neck Gaiter: This is normally a tube of fabric worn around your neck and face to protect you from sun the sun and cold conditions.
- Snow Socks: Should go to just under the knee. Generally labelled to keep your feet warm and should be breathable.
- Layers and/or Jacket: Based on comfort level, it is recommended to have one fleece layer and/or a snow jacket on top of your base layers.
- Sunscreen: Even on cloudy days, it is recommended to apply sunscreen to any areas of exposed skin with high attention to the nose, lips, and neck.
- Children: It is recommended to choose clothing in which children can slip in and out of independently for bathroom breaks.
